Gazillion Bubble Show Review
If you’re in the vicinity of New York City and you have any children under the age of ten, then the Gazillion Bubble Show is definitely something you’ll want to put on your to see list.
The Gazillion Bubble Show was created by and features Fan Yang, a world renowned bubble artist and scientist who has broken over a dozen world records and has wowed thousands with his bubble-tastic feats. He even broke the world record for the most people in a bubble LIVE on Oprah! (100 people in a single soap bubble.)
Fan Yang’s bubbly demonstrations and antics are ultimate crowd pleasers. The combination of whimsical bubbles with high tech effects from fog machines and eye catching laser lights keep the whole family excited and wondering what’s next. It’ll put sparkling smiles on everyone’s faces, young and old alike. The show makes you feel like a kid again, and while you watch your child’s smiling face, you’ll remember how blissful it was to be surrounded by bubbles as a child.
Yang’s tricks are spectacular! You might walk in saying, pfft, I’m an adule! How awesome can bubbles really be? Well let me tell you: pretty darn awesome! As he molds and grows the bubbles, your kids won’t be the only ones absolutely awe struck by his nimble skills. He creates giant bubbles, small bubbles, fluffy bubbles and my favorite: magical, milky white bubble orbs.
If your child gets picked to go on stage and be encased in a giant bubble or walk through a flurry of a gazillion bubbles, not only do they get the joy of having been onstage, they’ll also get a free bubble toy for participating in the show! Unfortunately, only five kids will be randomly chosen in total during the show, so be sure your child raises their hands high and smiles big to be noticed.

Although the show isn’t long (a little under 1.5 hours), I would caution against bringing young toddlers and infants to the show, as they might get antsy during the short spurts of “downtime” and prerecorded autobiographical monologues in between Yang’s bubbly acts. (Yes, I did indeed have a bit of trouble with an uncooperative 15 month old.)
I would say that the perfect age for children to see this show would be between two and half and ten years old.
Be aware that the air conditioning is turned off in the theater during the show. This shouldn’t be a problem unless the theater is completely packed to the gills. To avoid this, try for the 11am Wednesday & Saturday performances or the noon Sunday performance. For a photo of yourself, your kids or your whole family in a bubble, either come early or stay after the show to get a “Me in a Bubble” photo.

I have absolutely no idea if they knew that I was technically at the show with press credentials, but FYI, the Gazillion Bubble Show has a no photos policy. I was still able to take photographs of the show before I realized we weren’t supposed to, that is before all the proud mamas and papas whose children were chosen to go onstage started whipping out their cameras to commemorate the event. Then the ushers began enforcing the “no photographs” policy.
The Gazillion Bubble Show is at the off-broadway New World Stages, with shows on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Ticket prices range from $39 to $89.50, with lap seats for babies under 2 years old costing just $20. Depending on the performance you go to, you may see Fan Yang, his wife Ana, their son Deni or his brother Jano perform.
**I was provided with complimentary passes to see this show for the purpose of reviewing it. The opinions stated in this review are my own honest opinions.**
